ELIGIBILITY (according to Canada Summer Jobs Program requirement):

• Applicant must be between the ages of 15 to 30 at the start of the employment
• Has been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year  
• Be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act  
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial   legislation and regulations

POSITION #1: Event Planning & Communications Assistant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

• Plan, promote, execute, and evaluate events directed to youth empowerment and development under supervisor of Youth Ministry Staff
• Recruit volunteers 
• Provide updates to donors/sponsors
• Support media relations 

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• Post secondary education (in marketing, communications, marketplace, or advertising an asset)
• Maintain professionalism and integrity while handling sensitive information 
• Proficient on PC and MAC; Office applications and internet operation
• Keyboard skills: English and Chinese
• Language: fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese; Mandarin an asset. 
• Good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a team.
• Responsible, organized, self-motivated, willing to learn,  and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of non-profit sector an asset. 

POSITION #2: Social Media Assistant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

• Create promotional work in connection with event
• Participate in the branding and liaison of the organization
• Participate in planning and developing of youth events
• maintain and manage social media presence

REQUIRED SKILLS: 

• High School or Post secondary education (in graphic design, photography, video production, or digital media an asset)
• Proficient on PC and MAC; (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom asset)
• Keyboard skills: English and Chinese
• Language: fluent in spoken and written English and Cantonese; Mandarin an asset. 
• Good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a team.
• Responsible, organized, self-motivated, willing to learn,  and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of non-profit sector an asset.
